Christine Vroom Interiors, in Los Angeles, is seeking to hire a Full-Time Junior Designer/ Project Designer. This is a unique opportunity to join an established Interior Design firm. The ideal candidate would be someone who has a positive attitude, great design aesthetic, organized, motivated and works well independently.

This person should have at least 3 years of experience in custom residential new construction, remodels, and project management at an established design firm. The project designer will assist the Principal Designer in vendor correspondence, managing meeting agendas, sourcing, procurement, schedules, obtaining quotes and samples, general organization pertaining to projects and timelines, verify site measurements and conditions, and project management. Formal education in interior design or architecture is a must. We are looking for a future-focused, passionate, committed Project Designer. This job also entails intense attention to detail, down to its most intricate segments. It’s a position that may be emotionally taxing as its ultra-fast paced and client relation focused. The position requires lots of juggling and multi-tasking and is ultimately, in my opinion, a really amazing, chaotic, but fulfilling experience. Designers are able to create an environment and feel for the client in the most important place in their life. It is a luxury service and a very highly regarded role. 

• Minimum Associates Degree in Interior Design

• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the Interior Design field.

• Mac computer knowledge

• Knowledge in the Houzz Pro Accounting Program

• Microsoft Suite- Word/ Excel/ Powerpoint/ Forms/ Apps/ etc. 

• Proficiency in AutoCad/ Revit/ Archicad/ Sketchup/ any drafting or design program and a drive to stay current and curious in your level of knowledge and abilities.

• Adobe Creative Suite (photoshop/ illustrator/ etc) 

• Marketing/ social media platforms

• Experience with researching, selecting and specifying materials and finishes and design presentations.

• As a Junior/ Project Designer you will be assisting in all aspects of the design process for multiple projects.

• Typical duties could include research for a new design project, sketches/ cad, sourcing, and preparing materials for production, or anything else needed to help run the design process.  

• Provide support with all phases of the design process including: consultations, site visits, design development, business development, presentations and installs.

• Provide product expertise and elevated client services by creating a luxury experience.

• To work on projects from all phases of design through installation, including: concept development, design development, elevations/ cad/ sketchup, design boards, sourcing products, presentation preparation, create client budgets, estimates and invoices, ordering, logistics, project documentation and schedules, furniture design, and installations. 
• Provide design support for Senior designer through all aspects of projects as well as in whatever capacity she needs.  
• Project management and the ability to organize & manage multiple projects at once
• Vendor liaison, vendor relations, meetings with vendors. 
• Collaborating on design concepts and materials for each project assigned. 
• Create design boards including: Concept presentations, room boards, and other visual boards- including verbiage/ content.
• Job site visits for project needs 
• Helping with budgets and being able to value engineer costs. 
• Prep documents for 3d mockups and produce 3d renderings and fly throughs for various projects.
• Assistance in select meetings (as needed). Take photos and notes every meeting, keeping CVI organized and in flow. 
• Documentation of projects including schedules (paint, slab, tile, grout, etc),, spec sheets, spreadsheets, google docs, excel sheets, QR codes, etc and keep updated digital files. Maintain all project-related information in electronic folders
• Take measurements and be able to communicate visually on the fly- which means sketching or ipad cad. 
• Block out elevations, floor plans and furniture space plans in (Autocad will be provided)  
• Direct communication with clients as needed. Represent the company at meetings with clients, architects, contractors and vendors, and organize and attend installations. 
• Installation assistance, styling, install management, photoshoot styling for each shoot. 
• End of project Styling for each project and potential option for furniture and styling jobs in general.  
• Sourcing for materials such as: Tile, stone, moldings, hardware, furniture, fabrics, lighting, color palettes fixtures, and finishes in line with client needs and the Principal’s design vision. 
• Manage and maintain continual communication with Principal, and vendors regarding project timelines, tracking, lead times, custom orders, timing for selections, CFAs, workroom inspections, installations and project-related information as needed.
• Order samples for the library, oversee memo purchasing and returns to vendors (may include office supplies.)
• Collaborates with other designers, lead designer, job captains, and project managers, as well as external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators.
• Manage red-lined drawing sets and edit as needed. 
• Assisting in orders and writing and prepping invoices as needed.
• Project procurement/ Following up on orders, Follow-ups/ ETA’s 
• Create PO’s for custom work, furniture orders and fabrication. 
• Opening new client accounts and onboarding new clients. 
• Create Trade Accounts as needed.
• Setting up and handling deliveries, scheduling drivers, and installations. 
• Organization of samples in the library (as needed) as well as developing processes /new ideas to keep the job efficient and cohesive every week. 

Additional Responsibilities: 

• Assistance with Social Media. Weekly photos for instagram, prepping posts, setting up content.   
• Inside PR- calling architects, builders for intros to keep business fresh. 
• Assist in marketing efforts
• Checking in all packages and label according to project. 
• Sample pickups/ drop offs/ the busy day to day design needs.
